Well this trip started on Friday May 11th. We left Mentor about 9:30 and arrived in our Hotel in Tokyo on Saturday about 6 pm. Needless to say it was a long trip. The flight was completely full with not one open seat. The people that I had the pleasure to sit next to had flown once before, that was their flight from Nashville to Detroit. So this was their 2nd flight ever. I guess there is nothing like jumping into it. Well they were nice people, but total country bumpkins. One might go so far to say that they were hill-billys. I do not think until this point they had never been out of the south. They had lots of questions and would always ask me "Where are we now?" and Having no idea where we were other an on an airplane i just made stuff up like, "I think we are close to Alaska now." So that was a good time. They were headed to China to adopt a child. I guess it takes 2 years to complete the process. Ray said it best when he said, "great now we got a Chinese hill-billy." So that sums it up. The airport was about 60 clicks from Tokyo which is a long way when you have been on a plane for so long. When we arrived, we went to Trader Vics for a Navy Grog and Menahune (i have no idea how to spell that) and then went to bed. The next morning when you get up at 5:15 it is a long time until 10 when you go and do something. I need to run but there will be more to come.
Peace out.
